This week my AVID assignment was to pick one challenge . I picked activity 2 which was have a relative write my post for me , so I picked my mom. She wrote about baking.
Everyone has a diferent idea on how to bake a good cake. Some people like moist cakes others like theirs dry. I personally love a good moist cake. mysecret for a perfect chocolate cake is adding a spoon full of mayonaise.it sounds weird but it is true adding about a table spoon of mayonaise will bake very moist. i think the reason for this has to be that mayonaise is just eggs and oil., therefore of coarse it will help. I at first thouhght that it would make my cake taste like mayonaise but i was wrong. It did not taste anything like mayonaise. it was very moist and i can truly say is the best way to bake a chocolate cake. Another ingredient that i have tried in baking a good moixt chocolate cake was adding a cup of chocolate pudding in the mix. I dont think this is better than the mayonaise but does help. The pudding we all know has milk so maybe thats what does the trick. I will stand by the mayo instead.
Many ffiends that know my passion for baking always ask for me to bake my famous choco-flans. This cake is a chocolte cake and flan baked together. It is so cool to see how in the oven this cake seperates by itself. You mix all the ingrediants pour them in the pan and the oven does the trick. When you flip it over the flan is on top and cake on the bottom. So very delicious and very moist. Probably the best cake you will ever taste.
I love expirmenting with recipes as you can see. This has not been the only weird ingredients I have used to bake. I also love to bake pineapple upside down cakes so when I heard to use the pineapple juice instead of water I was kind of sceptic but I tried it and boy were they right. The pineapple juice really makes it moist and gives it such a better flavor. Just writing about it makes me want to go and bake one now. The only thing that i dont like is that I can eat it all by myself.
